There are strange odors in the area
It could be an indication that your fireplace isn’t ventilating properly if smoke is overwhelming and permeates your entire VarCounty County house when a fire is burning. Clogged chimneys and flues can negatively impact ventilation. It is also a sign that too much waste is in your chimney when you notice odors coming from it even when the fire isn’t active. The mixture of creosote, soot, ash, and other organic materials in your flue can cause unpleasant odors to develop in your house, and those unpleasant odors may spread to other parts of your home. It’s time to schedule an appointment with a Cypress, TX chimney repair company if you smell strange odors coming from your fireplace, regardless of when you notice them.
Strange sounds are being heard
If your fireplace makes any strange sounds, such as scratching, chittering, banging, or gnawing, that could be a sign that animals are nesting in it. Various critters, such as birds, bats, raccoons, and squirrels, can take shelter in chimneys. Animals who have established themselves inside your chimney can become quickly ignited as soon as the fire in the fireplace is lit, putting them – and you – at risk. Additionally, if animals live inside your chimney, it is possible that they may eventually move inside your house, which is something you do not want to happen. Whenever you hear strange noises coming from your fireplace, search for a chimney sweep near you immediately. It might be that animals are, in fact, causing the noise. If that is indeed true, a professional chimney repair company will remove any debris the animals have left behind and identify Cypress, TX the source of the noise.
Your fireplace is inefficient or smokey
Is it difficult for you to start or keep a fire going? Has your fireplace been producing excessive amounts of smoke lately? If so, there is a chance it is time to contact Cypress, TX chimney repair.
It could also be the result of burning unseasoned wood, which has a higher moisture content and potentially results in a smokier fire; however, it could also be a symptom of a chimney problem. If there’s too much creosote and soot buildup in your chimney, or if there are cracks in the masonry, this could be the cause. Smoke production increases when both issues are present. The Cypress area is located along U.S. Highway 290 is twenty-four miles (35 km) northwest of Downtown Houston. The Cypress urban cluster ranks 50th in the top 100 highest-income urban areas in the United States.
The recent find of a San Patrice projectile point at the Dimond Knoll site nearby on Cypress Creek attests to a human presence in the area by 7500 BC. By the early historic era, the area around present-day Cypress was populated by Atakapa and Akokisa Indian tribes, but they soon disappeared after the appearance of German settlers in the 1840s.
The German heritage is most notably reflected in the names of some of the major thoroughfares of the area, such as Huffmeister and Telge Roads. General Sam Houston and his Texas Army camped in the area on March 22, 1836 on the way to Harrisburg, which is now in East Houston, just days before the Battle of San Jacinto.
The area remained mostly rural until the early 1990s when developers began construction of several master-planned communities. The area is often referred to as Cy-Fair or Cypress-Fairbanks, which comes from when the Big Cypress School and Fairbanks High School combined in the 1930s to form Cy-Fair High School and the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District. In March 2008, the Cypress Historical Society (CHS) was formed as a non-profit corporation with its primary mission being ‘…to discover, educate, promote, collect, preserve and make available to the public, historical documents and artifacts of the Cypress area’. The CHS organization holds regular events aimed at exposing Cypress’ residents to the historical and cultural foundation upon which the area was built.
