Chimney services in Dallas County

Your home is made more welcoming and interesting by a fireplace. It is a focal point at family gatherings during chilly nights, and it is where your stockings are hung with care during the holidays.

As such, fireplaces in Dallas County need to be maintained in order to make sure they are working properly and safely. In order to keep your fireplace in top working order, there are a number of chimney services available. Mesquite, TX Chimney cleanings provide a number of key services.

Inspections

A reliable Mesquite, TX Chimney cleaning professional will offer inspections as one of their primary services. Chimneys can suffer damage even if they aren’t used for example, constant exposure to the weather can damage the liner. In the event of even minor damage to a chimney component, there can be serious problems. Minor cracks can create chimney moisture or cause chimney fires.

The entire structure will be thoroughly inspected by a reputable Chimney cleaning in Mesquite, TX. Every component will be checked using the most advanced tools and technologies, and even the smallest problems will be detected so that they can be fixed. It is recommended that a detailed chimney inspection be conducted every year.

Chimney Cleaning

A reputable chimney specialist will also provide cleaning services. Byproducts of combustion, such as soot, ash, and creosote, accumulate in the firebox and on the surface of the chimney flue every time you use your fireplace.

Combustible by-products can ignite when you start a fire, and the more buildup, the greater the risk of a fire. Leaves, acorns, and twigs from the outdoors can also accumulate inside chimneys; animals can also nest in these structures. All of these substances are flammable.

Annual chimney cleaning is crucial to reducing the risk of fire. The flue liner, firebox, and damper of your chimney will be thoroughly cleaned by a trained and licensed Mesquite, TX Chimney cleaning. Creosote buildup, soot, and ash will be removed, as well as birds, nests, and any outdoor debris.

Chimney Cap Repair or Replacement

Chimney caps are quite literally caps that cover the top of chimneys. This feature serves several purposes. The chimney cap prevents rainwater from entering the chimney and pooling in the fireplace it also stops drafts from blowing into your Dallas County home that contains sparks and embers.

Therefore, chimney caps are pretty important, but they can be damaged if not properly maintained due to their constant exposure to the elements. Mesquite, TX Chimney cleanings are capable of repairing or replacing a damaged chimney cap to protect a structure from fires.

Waterproofing

Moisture is the chimney’s worst enemy. The damage caused by even a small amount of water to a chimney can be extensive and weaken its structure. Mold can grow in building materials, such as plywood and sheetrock if moisture seeps into construction materials through a chimney.

Waterproofing is highly recommended to prevent moisture damage. As part of this chimney cleaners service, we will inspect the structure, check for cracks and holes, repair any damages, and apply a waterproof sealant to the exterior of the chimney. By waterproofing a chimney, moisture is prevented from infiltrating and causing extensive damage.

Chimney Relining

Relining chimneys is another service that a reliable Mesquite, TX Chimney cleaning professional can provide. Liners serve several purposes: by preventing heat from transferring to combustible elements around your chimney, you reduce your risk of fire.

Gases in your chimney also prevent your chimney’s mortar from being damaged. Highly acidic, these gases can erode the mortar that holds chimneys together. As a chimney liner ages, however, it can naturally form cracks, and crumble. A relining involves replacing an old, worn-out chimney liner with a new, high-quality, durable one.

Some information about Mesquite, TX

Mesquite is a suburban city located east of the city of Dallas, Texas, in the United States. Most of the city is located in Dallas County, though a small portion extends into Kaufman County. As of 2019 census estimates, the population was 140,937, making it the 22nd-most populous city in the U.S. state of Texas. Mesquite is positioned at the crossroads of four major highways, making locations such as downtown Dallas, Lake Ray Hubbard, Dallas Love Field, and DFW International Airport accessible.

Centuries before American settlers moved into the area, Mesquite was an open prairie land and a key trading ground for indigenous peoples. The Ionies were a western tribe located close to present-day Fort Worth. The Tawakonies were in present-day Dallas. Finally, the Caddo were the native farmers of the Mesquite land. From 1680 to 1790, after harvest was over, these three tribes held an annual tournament and trading fair.

The city of Mesquite was founded on March 14, 1878, on land along the Texas & Pacific Railway, which ran from Dallas to Shreveport, Louisiana. The locals then named the town after Mesquite Creek. The city was officially incorporated on December 3, 1887, after electing Mayor J.E. Russell.

In the city’s earliest years, it was known for many outlaws residing in the area. A prominent outlaw was Sam Bass, historically known for his train robberies in Texas. In 1878, he robbed a train in downtown Mesquite, escaping with $30,000. The Mesquiter, established in 1882 by R.S. Kimbrough, was Dallas County’s longest-running newspaper.
