CHIMNEY REBUILDS AND INSTALLATIONS WITH LONG-LASTING DURABILITY
A fireplace’s construction can usually be determined based on its appearance alone. You can learn more about the difference between Masonry and Prefabricated Fireplaces in our blog post. Traditional tastes prefer the brickwork and aged appearance of masonry fireplaces.
Older homes often have Masonry chimneys, which mean older stonework. As with most materials, stone and brick work will wear and tear over time. Chimneys without a Chimney Cap are especially vulnerable to weathering and damage!
MASTERS SERVICES CHIMNEY INSTALLATION PROCESS
Prepare the Area
We start the Chimney Rebuild Process by tearing down the chimney chase to the roof due to spalling of the bricks.
Create the Foundation
To match the original chimney, we rebuilt the chimney with a similar brick size and color once it had been taken down.
Finalize the Chimney
After the mortar crown is covered with a chimney cap, the chimney is waterproofed, and the flashing is sealed to create a water-tight seal.
PREFABRICATED CHIMNEY CHASE REBUILDS
Chimneys run through the roof of prefabricated, factory-built fireplaces. Sometimes these are encased with siding or simulated brick and they usually have a chase cover on top of the chimney.
Several tests are performed on prefab fireplaces before they are shipped. Installation must be done properly in order to ensure their safety. The replacement parts must be made specifically for the fireplace, or you run the risk of a house fire. In prefab chimneys, the housing is usually made of a synthetic material like siding, and can rot or wear over time.
